T-Shirt Design for Dave Ekins

This is the first T-Shirt Design I did for the Ekins family for the Baja 1000 event they went to.  Dave Ekins and Bill Robertson were the first people to do the Baja 1000 from Tijuana to La Paz Mexico.  They were demonstrating how well the Honda CL-72 Scrambler would handle in any kind of terrain.  This was a fun t-shirt to design.  Christina Van Houdt, Dave Ekin'sdaughter had given me some photos to work with from the day of the event and wanted me to come up with some ideas for the design.  I had pulled some ideas from the map they used to different parts of the bike.  What we ended up with was this.  The tire not only surrounds the picture, but it feels like the sun with its rays flickering at the outer most points.  I also separated the text with a bit of Mexican style graphic that looks like a tire tread in the sand.    At the end of the day, they were happy, and that makes me happy.
